The best elote I ever had was in the town of Zacoalco de Torres, Jalisco state during the summer and fall of 2004. I was staying in a mountain village, but would take a 1-hour bus ride to Zacoalco in the lowlands in order to use the Internet and visit their supermercado. Along side the bus depot were various food vendors, and it is from here that would buy elotes for dinner.
